Canada's Unemployed
On
September 3, 2003, the Canadian Labour Congress
released its latest report on the impact
recent changes to unemployment insurance
have had on working people and communities.
The
CLC report details how the Employment Insurance
Program (EI) has dramatically reduced unemployment
insurance coverate in all regions of the country.
It also shows, for the first time, the profoundly
negative impact EI has had on unemployment
insurance protection for women of all ages
since its introduction in 1996.
